About Genie

The idea behind Genie started in June 2001 with the creation of the Egypt-IT-Jobs Yahoo! group. The group steadily built momentum due to its sustained focus on IT jobs. Fast forward five years, and in June 2006, the group had managed to built a 8000 strong base of loyal members in addition to gaining over 300 new members every month. Genie was then born to cater for the increased demand on the growing Egyptian IT talent.

Ashraf Al Shafaki, Founder of Genie, is the owner of www.egypt-it-jobs.com. He started Genie with the vision of facilitating the recruitment process of IT professionals which many companies find difficult to recruit. Ashraf Al Shafaki's experience as HR Manager in the software industry combined with his past experience in delivering programming and other IT training provided him with a deep understanding of the problems that many software companies face in trying to find and employ the right candidates for their teams. Genie is the long awaited for answer to many unmet project deadlines, buggy software and technical issues that show up every day due to inability to recruit suitable IT professionals.
